Furthermore, it is not affected by carbide precipitation and grain boundary precipitation. It is susceptible to post weld heat treatments in the weld affected zone.

The SS grade has enhanced formability and better forming properties. This grade has good thermal properties and higher thermal coefficient of expansion in the elevated zones. These tubes and pipes are formed by both hot and cold forming process. It is cold worked that prevents embrittlement and retain mechanical properties. These are processed from industrial finishing process to acquire higher dimensional accuracy.

What is the material used for IBR?

The material used for IBR are same as per ASTM STD e.g. A106 Gr B or A671Gr CB60 for pipes but the only difference is that the material must come with the following certificate Form IIIA for pipes. Form IIIC for fittings. The above materials must be inspected by the boiler inspector in the vendor shop in that stage & stamped.
